Below is an interesting story of a rare chicken breed that has all its features black except for its blood.
Their feathers, comb, beak, skin, wattles, internal organs, meat, egg, and bones are all black.
Some individuals maintain it primarily as a pet since they have a beautiful shadowed brilliance that makes them one-of-a-kind and highly sought for.
Their blood and tongue is the only part of their body that isn’t black.

The hereditary condition is known as “Fibromelanosis” and is responsible for this hyperpigmentation (blackness) meaning that their body produces excess melanin.
The rare breed of chicken is mostly found in Indonesia and Thailand. In Thailand, they are believed to have magical powers and are a symbol of good luck.
They are also unsuitable for egg production since they lay fewer eggs and can lay about 60-80 eggs a year and some may not lay eggs.
The species are known to lay for weeks at a time, then stop for several months before starting to lay again.
They are also hard to maintain.
It’s one of the most expensive chickens in the world with prices ranging from $3,000 to over $5,000 each that is approximately between over three hundred thousand to over five hundred thousand Kenyan shillings each.
This depends on the size, age, and health status of the chicken.
