
On Friday, July 16, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) confirmed that UDA’s Njuguna Wanjiku had won the Kiambaa polls.
Njuguna received 21,773 votes, while his close rival Kariri Njama of Jubilee received 21,263 votes.
Njuguna told reporters that the party had been working round the clock to achieve victory in the Kiambaa by-election.
“It’s been a long road, and I’d like to thank the Kiambaa people for entrusting me with their votes and allowing me to represent them for the next year.”
It’s been a long and winding road. There was a lot of voter bribing and intimidation, but God has finally blessed us with victory, and we are overjoyed. Said the overwhelmed Njuguna.
On the other and jubilee won the Muguga Ward assembly seat a hotly contested seat too.
