Ever wondered who acted the role of Jesus in the movie that was acted in 1977?
Here is the interesting story of the British film actor Robert Powell, he is well known for his 1977 film where he acted in Jesus of Nazareth movie.
From that movie, Robert gained fame worldwide and most people believed he was the real Jesus.
The movie was the original and the first acted movie that was later translated into several languages.
Powell was born on 1 June 1944 in Salford, Lancashire, England and is currently 77 years still involved in film and documentaries.
Powell is married and is blessed with three children. Backstage at the BBC, Powell met his future wife, Pan’s People dancer Barbara “Babs” Lord. The pair married in 1975, just before he was about to begin filming Jesus of Nazareth on a location in Tunisia.
They are blessed with two children Kate Powell and Barney Powell.

During the acting of the film, Jesus of Nazareth Powell starved for 12 days prior to the crucifixion and he almost literally lied according to Powell.
Powell was nominated for a BAFTA award for this role, and he also won the TVTimes Best Actor award for the same performance.
The 77 years old is still actively involved in film and has acted in over 30 films with the last one being in 2020.
At some time Powell came out clear to people who were using his picture and worshiping him that he is not Jesus.
He further argued that hanging his portraits on walls and cars is not a good idea since it is just similar to hanging other actors too because they are all humans.
One word for Powell and May God Continue protecting him.
