During a robbery event in Matuu town, Machakos County, three criminals attacked a busy banking hall and began the fire.
The attackers disarmed the facility’s security personnel and took clients, hostage, inside.
Witnesses said the robbery started about 9:00 a.m. and lasted about 15 minutes until all three criminals managed to flee.

After gaining entry to the premises, thugs opened firing in the air, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. One thug was shot in the arm, according to reports.

The amount of money stolen in the incident is still unknown.
“The thugs entered the hall while the staff was opening it in the morning. It was around 9:00 a.m. at the time. They kidnapped everyone and locked the doors.

“There was a gunfight, but it was all in the air.” “One thug was shot in the arm,” one witness claimed.
The culprits have been sought by the police.

This comes just three weeks after five additional suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Friday, July 2 while reportedly attempting to steal from a bank in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
The accused were staying the night at Angle House on Ukwala Lane in the OTC neighborhood, according to the police officials.
