If a new CCTV policy is established by parliament, the government will have access to closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in all public buildings.
The government wants immediate access to CCTV cameras installed in institutions, enterprises, and public facilities under the new CCTV Policy.
Offices, schools, universities, restaurants & taverns, retail malls, and hotels are among them.
They will also be compelled to report to the appropriate authorities any security-related incidents filmed by the cameras. If found guilty in a court of law, failure to comply with the policy might result in the closure of businesses, fines, and possibly a jail sentence.
It is illegal to install CCTV cameras in police stations, the State House, and military camps.
The Interior Ministry will oversee the construction, operation, and administration of CCTV cameras as part of a new government strategy to reduce crime and promote public safety.
The government assured privacy by stating that only authorized individuals will have access to the system and recorded footage.

Every three months, the owners of the various institutions will be required to send the ministry raw footage recorded by their CCTV cameras (quarterly).
The ministry also demands that the cameras be installed in all public areas throughout the country. The CCTVs that have been installed will need to be registered with the appropriate authorities.
The owners will be required to ensure that the cameras are operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to report any failures as soon as they occur.
