Minicheps real name is Catherine Jepkemboi she just turned 26 years old in early September 2021.

She hails from Eldoret County. And studied there.

She has risen to fame in the previous two years after her hilarious and creative photos went viral.

Being born from a humble background after completing her primary education she was unable to continue to high school and being the elder sister of her other siblings, she decided to end it there and let her younger siblings have at least a chance to even reach her level.

She also said that she believed she had several ideas and was sure she will one day make it despite ending her school at the primary level.

She also revealed that she has never been to a photography class and her photos are just of a pure blend of hard work, talent, creativity, and consistency.

Minicheps is married and is blessed with two kids aged two and a half years and one year old respectively.

Apart from spending most of her time caring for her children, the artist, who is a stay-at-home mother and a Standard Eight dropout, says her painting is her top priority. Her animator partner, she claims, saw her interest in photography and challenged her to start making miniature versions of herself. This would set her apart from her peers and help her establish her brand. “My work is one-of-a-kind, genuine, and personal. “It means ‘this is Chep,’” Jepkemboi explains.

She always thanks her husband who inspired her to do what she is currently doing.

In a recent interview, the artist noted she was yet to start earning from her art but some companies had inquired about partnering with her.

I always loved taking pictures. My partner Meshak Korir and I would use a borrowed camera, but with time, we saved up and bought our own. That is when I began to take the work I do seriously,” says Jepkemboi.

She also noted she longed for better equipment to help her better her art.
