Chaos erupted in Busia after residents stopped roads in order to obstruct Deputy President William Ruto’s convoy.
A group of young people protesting DP Ruto’s presidency strewn stones on the roads and chanted anti-Ruto slogans.
The Deputy President, who is in Busia to publicize his presidential bid in 2022, did not shy away from addressing the matter, accusing his political opponents of coordinating and utilizing youth to generate disorder.
The DP chastised politicians for bribing young people to incite violence and warned that his government will not enable bureaucrats to exploit young people, but will instead offer job possibilities for them.
He also warned young people not to be manipulated by politicians for personal benefit and told them that if he is elected President in 2022, he will change the country.

According to reports, the DP reduced his political contacts in the area following the chaos in Busia.
