Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief George Kinoti tendered his resignation on Tuesday, which was accepted by President William Ruto.
As a result, President Ruto gave the National Police Service (NPS) the order to post a job opening and conduct recruitment.
The Head of State requested that the service find someone to fill in for him or her in the interim.
Since 2018, Kinoti has served as the organization’s director of criminal investigations.
After President Ruto accused Kinoti of being exploited to weaponize the battle on corruption, Kinoti was about to quit.
